• Submit one original Permit Application, completed, signed and notarized
  • Provide a copy of current contractor’s license(s), liability insurance, and worker’s compensation
  • Provide a signed cost estimate/bid contract
  • Submit three sets of approved and signed/sealed plans with permit application, 24x36 for commercial projects
  • A Construction Easement Agreement shall be required for any non-permanent structures allowed in the utility easement
  • All work requiring MOT plans shall be submitted. If submitting an MOT/TTCP with FDOT Design Standards 600 Series Indexes or a typical application figure from the MUTCD, an Intermediate Level Certification Card will be required. If a sketch is submitted, an Advanced Level Certification Card will be required. Work on County/State right-of-way shall get MOT approval from that agency.
  • All permit fees are calculated based on Section 13-88 of the City’s Code of Ordinances. o Minor maintenance work, with an engineering cost estimate of $5,000.00 or less, shall have a minimum permit fee of $100.00. o Maintenance work, with an engineering cost estimate over $5,000.00, shall have the permit and inspection fee at 4%. o All construction, including clearing and grubbing, earthwork, excavation and filling, according to the estimate of the cost of engineering:  Estimate cost the first $900,000.00 and under – 8%  Estimate cost over $900,000 – 4%
  • Per City Code Section 13-186, a public improvement bond must be posted for all public improvements shown on the approved engineering plans prior to issuance of any permits. Such bond must be posted with the City in the amount of 100% of the estimated itemized cost, prepared and certified by an engineer registered in the State of Florida
  • Permits are valid for one year, a Permit Renewal Fee will be required for time extension. Permits will expire if construction does not start within 180 days of issuance date. Permit will be suspended if there is no construction activity 90 days after the last engineering inspection. Contractor shall be aware that an ERP or CGP Stormwater Permit may be required from FDEP for this site.
  • In addition to the requirements of this permit, there may be certain restrictions against the property that may be found in the public records of Broward County. There may be additional permits required from other governmental entities such as, but not limited to, Water Management Districts, State, or Federal agencies.
