Engineering

The Engineering Division is dedicated to enhancing our community through the thoughtful design and construction of high-quality public infrastructure. Our mission is to deliver reliable, efficient, and visually appealing systems—including water, wastewater, stormwater, reclaimed water, and roadways—by applying sound engineering practices and upholding the highest industry standards. We proudly design many projects in-house and collaborate with other city departments to support their engineering and project management needs, ensuring a safe and sustainable future for all residents.

The Engineering Division, part of the City’s Utilities and Engineering Department, plays a key role in shaping our community’s growth and infrastructure. As a vital member of the City’s Development Review Committee (DRC), the division is responsible for reviewing plans, issuing permits, conducting inspections, and approving both public and private infrastructure projects within the city.

We also assist with securing engineering permits for City-led projects from various regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all necessary standards. Our team collaborates closely with federal, state, and local agencies on important issues such as floodplain management, traffic engineering, and water resource management.

In addition to supporting development and permitting, the Engineering Division designs in-house projects and provides expert engineering and project management support to all City departments—helping deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure for our residents.
