After completing his military service with the US Army, Sgt. Brian Mullin attended Florida State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Criminology. His law enforcement career began in 1999 with the Thomasville Police Department in Georgia. Starting as a Patrol Officer, he rose to Field Training Officer (FTO) and briefly participated in the Thomas County Drug Squad. In 2004, a family relocation to South Florida led him to join the Coconut Creek Police Department. His career there began as a Patrol Officer, but expanded to include roles like FTO, Detective in the Criminal Investigations Section (CIS), and his current position as Patrol Sergeant.
He was married to his late wife, Susan, for twenty years until her passing from breast cancer in 2021. Together they had two children, Hannah and Mason, who have been part of the Coconut Creek community since 2004. Brian's service to the community has extended beyond police work. He has been a mentor at SOS Children's Village, a head coach for various youth sports, and a board member for the Coconut Creek Crush fast-pitch softball team. In October 2023, Brian married his current wife, Maureen. Together, they enjoy traveling, attending concerts, supporting Florida State University athletics, and most importantly, cooking.
Drawing on both positive and negative experiences, Sgt. Brian aims to offer valuable insights and guidance that empower others to achieve their goals and navigate challenges. His philosophy is that "Life is short, and one should experience everything without fear or limitations."
