Resident Fee $35.00/per year (includes first dog only, additional dogs are $15 extra).

Windmill Dog Park Homepage
  1. While on the premises, the owner/handler shall conduct himself/ herself in a respectful, civil and orderly fashion and shall not harass other patrons or commit vulgar acts, use foul, slanderous, discriminatory, sexual, obscene or defamatory language, and shall not impede City staff in their responsibility to enforce the rules of the Dog Park. 

  2. The City reserves the right to eject from the Dog Park any owner/ handler, guest or dog causing a disturbance, or who violates the Windmill Dog Park Rules and Regulations or ordinances of the City or laws of the State of Florida, or whose conduct presents a risk to the health, safety or welfare of other persons, animals, and/ or property on the premises, and neither the City or any of its employees shall be liable to the owner or handler for any damages that may be sustained as a result.  

  3. Dog owners/handlers must be age 18 or older to be allowed in the Dog Park area.  Children accompanying dog owners/handlers must be strictly supervised by an adult.  All other guests, or spectators must remain outside the fenced area.  

  4. No adults other than those identified as a dog owner or handler on designated on an approved Membership Application are permitted in the Dog Park.

  5. No animals other than dogs may be brought into the fenced area.

  6. Dogs shall wear on a collar with ID and display dog license and rabies vaccination at all times while in the park.

  7. All dogs must be leashed until safely inside the Dog Park and returned to a leash prior to exiting the Dog Park. Owners/handlers must have one (1) leash per dog at all times.

  8. Dog owners/handlers must remain in the fenced area while their dogs are using the Dog Park. Owners/handlers must be in view of their dogs with voice control at all times.

  9. Aggressive dogs and female dogs in heat are not allowed inside the Dog Park. Owners/handlers must immediately leash and remove dogs from the Dog Park at the first sign of aggression, hostility, or combative behavior. 

  10. Dog owners/handlers must pick up after their dog(s) and use proper disposal containers provided

  11. While small, bite-sized training treats are permitted, food in bowls, long-lasting chews, or glass containers are not permitted.

  12. Smoking and eating are not allowed inside the Dog Park. 

  13. Sick or injured dogs are not allowed inside the Dog Park. Owners/handlers of dogs with a known sickness/injury or displaying sick or injured behavior will be required to remove their dog(s) immediately from the Dog Park.

  14. Each adult may have a maximum of three (3) dogs at a time inside the Dog Park.

  15. Puppies less than four (4) months old are not permitted inside the Dog Park.

  16. Owners/handlers are, at all times, solely responsible and liable for any injury or damage caused by their dogs and are fully responsible for their dogs’ actions. Never leave your dog(s) unattended. If your dog inflicts an injury, you must give your name and telephone number to the other dog owner/handler before leaving. 

  17. No digging. If your dog digs within the Dog Park, you must notify City Staff immediately to ensure the area is restored to a safe condition.

  18. Recreational bicycles, tricycles, big-wheels, wagons, roller-blades, skateboards, and the like are not permitted inside the Dog Park.

  19. Shoes must be worn at all times while inside the Dog Park.

  20. No attendant will be on duty; the use of the Dog Park is unsupervised and self-directed. However, if general assistance is needed, please call the Parks & Recreation Department at 954-448-3319. If immediate or life threating assistance is needed, please call 911.

  21. Choke, spike, pinch, prong collars are not allowed inside the Dog Park.

  22. The off-leash dog area is for dogs, their handlers, and those accompanying them. No other use is allowed. These areas are designated for recreational canine activities. It is not intended for any other purpose.

  23. No professional or commercial training is allowed inside the Dog Park except for City-sponsored events.

  24. The dog wash stations are available for Dog Park members only. All shampoos and cleaning supplies must be removed from the Dog Park upon exiting the Dog Park.

  25. All dogs and owners/handlers use the Dog Park at their own risk. Owners/handlers must agree to and formally execute the City’s “Acceptance of Risk and Release of Liability and Waiver Form” prior to use of the Dog Park.

  26. Dog owners/handlers must never use their gate pass to allow another dog owner/handler into the Dog Park.  As with all other Dog Park rules, failure to abide by this rule will result in loss of Dog Park privileges.  No refunds will be given.  (This policy will be strictly enforced)

  27. The City assumes no responsibility whatsoever for any personal property brought into the Dog Park by the owner/handler or their guest(s).  Owner/handler expressly releases and discharges the City, its officers, employees, and agents from any and all liabilities for any personal property loss, which includes but is not limited to damage to the owner’s/handler’s personal property that may occur within the Dog Park.   

  28. The City may, in its sole discretion, retain custody of personal property left or lost in the Dog Park.  At no risk of liability to the City, the City of Coconut Creek reserves the right to remove personal property left on Dog Park premises and to dispose of such personal property that remains unclaimed for a period of thirty (30) days or longer.

  29. No freezes or transfers of memberships.

  30. As deemed necessary to facilitate a safe environment, City of Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation staff reserve the right to implement/enforce additional Dog Park rules.

  31. City staff reserve the right to ask to see member’s key fob(s) and / or identification.

  32. Dog owners/handlers who fail to abide by rules and regulations are subject to loss of Dog Park privileges.

  33. In the event that a dog owner/handler or his/her guest violates any of the rules or regulations set forth herein, the City reserves the right to refuse the owner, handler, and/or dog(s) future access to the Dog Park and automatically terminate this Agreement without refund or any penalty to the City
