Holiday Cultures of Winter

Join us for the enchanting "Holiday Cultures of Winter" event taking place December 15th and December 16th, 2023. Immerse yourself in a vibrant celebration of global winter traditions featuring music, crafts, games, food, costume characters, and captivating entertainment.

Explore the richness of cultures from around the world, including Kwanzaa (Africa), Chinese New Year (China), Carnival (Italy), and Festival of Lights (Norway). Capture the magic at our photo op zones.

December 15 and 16, 2023

Times:
Friday, December 15th: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Saturday, December 16th: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Location:
Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard

Admission
$10 per day for Coconut Creek residents
$15 per day for non-residents
Credit card payment only (no cash or checks accepted)

Registration Details:
Registration is ongoing until full (limited space available). All attendees must register. Register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Recreation Complex or Community Center (1100 Lyons Road). A WebTrac account is required for online registration. For assistance, contact the Recreation Complex at 954-956-1580.

Alexander Calder “Mobiles & Stabiles / An International Presence”

    • Topic: Alexander Calder, is one of the most acclaimed sculptors of the 20th century; utilized his innovative genius and mechanical engineering background to profoundly change the course of modern art on an international level; is renowned for the invention of the mobile, whose suspended abstract elements move and balance in changing harmony

About the Speaker 

      • Armando Droulers is an art historian, educator, lecturer and consultant.  He studied at Bard College, Academia de Arte Federico Brandt, New World School of the Arts and The University of Florida.
