Poetry in the Park Workshop Series

New and experienced poets will be led by Laura McDermott Matheric, Poet Laureate of Coconut Creek, through ways to express their inner selves while writing about the natural environment of our hometown. After two workshops, poets will be welcome to share their work in a group reading. This project is supported by a Broward County Cultural Division Individual Artist Grant award which inspired Laura to collaborate with the Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation Department in uniting timeless cultural practices with the local community. Laura is also a writing professor at Broward College and author of Visions on Alligator Alley.
