Hazardous Household WasteBroward County's 1.6 million residents use small amounts of hazardous chemicals in their homes. Even small amounts can cause environmental problems if they find their way into Broward's drinking water and they can also harm sanitation workers if collected at curbside with regular trash collection. The safest way to dispose of hazardous home chemicals is to carefully pack them up and bring them to one of Broward County's HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (HHW) Collection Centers. The Household Hazardous Waste program accepts hazardous chemicals generated from Broward County residents (Proof of Broward County residency required) FREE OF CHARGE and disposes or recycles them according to all local, state and federal regulations.
