Sustainability Lecture Series

All lectures will be held in the Commission Chambers at the Coconut Creek Government Center, located at 4800 West Copans Road, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

“Alternative Transportation - Bike Lanes, Greenways & More”

There are many modes of transportation available for use in South Florida. Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization Staff and City Staff will present the aspect of multi-modal transportation including pedestrian, bicycle, and transit options. You don't always need your car!! Come learn about sustainable transportation for a cleaner, healthier tomorrow.

James Cromar is a Principal Planner at the Broward MPO with nearly 20 years of experience. His planning experience began as a consultant based in Denver, Colorado, with projects in several states, including Texas, Montana and California. James moved to South Florida in 2002 to work for the City of Fort Lauderdale, and later for Broward County. Throughout his career, James has worked on multi-modal and transit planning combined with urban design and redevelopment issues.

Todd Henry-DeJesus is the Planning Projects Coordinator with the City of Coconut Creek and is responsible for environmental programs, greenways and various special projects. He is also the City’s grant administrator. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering from Princeton University and a Masters Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia.

Jim Hetzel is the Sustainable City Coordinator with the City of Coconut Creek and is responsible for coordinating and implementing the City Green Plan. He is also the coordinator for the City’s MainStreet Project. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from FAU and is a member of the American Planning Association.
