Coconut Creek wants to recognize exceptional yards; therefore, is seeking nominations
for the most beautiful yards and those that have been designed in an environmentally-friendly manner.
Any Coconut Creek residential or commercial property owner can apply. Nomination forms can be downloaded
from www.CoconutCreek.net or can be picked-up at City Hall (4800 West Copans Road). Another option is to
e-mail landscapeaward@coconutcreek.net with the following information: photos, brief description of the
yard, name of property owner, property address, and nominee’s contact information. Submission of entry
forms is complimentary. The deadline is June 15, 2010 with the winner(s) being announced in early summer
this year.
“The Coconut Creek Landscape Award Program was initiated to recognize residents who have not only met
all the necessary landscaping code standards but have worked hard to make an aesthetically pleasing yard.
We hope that this program will spark friendly competition within the city neighborhoods and help educate
residents about our minimum landscaping requirements,” stated Todd DeJesus, Planning Projects Coordinator,
City of Coconut Creek.
City representatives will conduct a technical review in addition to an aesthetic review of each yard nominated.
This year’s program is being sponsored by NuTurf Lawn and Garden Center of Margate. A newly designed yard sign
and NuTurf gift certificate will be awarded to the winners. Up to three awards will be issued.
