Congrats Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to all of the recipients of the 2008 scholarships awarded from the Women’s Club of Coconut Creek!

The Women’s Club of Coconut Creek is proud to announce that a total of 20 scholarships, including one for the Edward Waldman Memorial $1,000 Scholarship, were given out to 17 high school 2008 graduates, two college renewals, and one adult student Women’s Club member totaling $12,000.

Monarch High School:

1. John T. Hardardt – University of Florida and he is the winner of the Edward Waldman Memorial $1,000 Scholarship
2. Adam Goudarzi - Cornell University in the State of New York - $1,000
3. Anna M. Gabriel - University of Florida - $1,000
4. Colleen H. Sheu - University of Florida - $750
5. Diego A. Penaloza - Florida Atlantic University - $750
6. Sam R. Shahidi - Florida Atlantic University - $750
7. Melissa R. Robshaw - University of Central Florida - $500
8. Amanda L. Scholfield - Ringling College of Art & Design - $500
9. Maria L. DiSangro - Broward Community College - $500
10. Alivia P. Murphy - Florida State University - $250
11. Robert A. Privitere - University of Central Florida - $250
12. Sarah A. Barreiro - Florida International University - $250

Coconut Creek High School:
1. Robert C. Pogue - Florida Atlantic University - $1,000
2. Katie M. Afflerback - Florida Gulf Coast University - $750
3. Brittany L. Page - Broward Community College - $250
4. Matthew K. Doethlaff - Coral Springs Fire Academy - $250

Atlantic Tech Magnet High School:
1. Joshua A. Bernstein - University of Central Florida - $500

College renewals, prior Coconut Creek resident:
1. Andrew C. Meagher from the Florida Atlantic University - $500
2. Lisa A. D’Oyley from the University of Florida - $500

Women’s Club of Coconut Creek adult member:
1. Christine Cardenas - Broward Community College - $500

The Women’s Club of Coconut Creek meets the second Monday of every month, except in July and August, at 7:30 p.m. at the Rowe Community Center, 900 NW 43rd Avenue. City of Coconut Creek residents are welcome to attend meetings and/or join the club. During the club’s 2007 – 2008 year, they had a variety of their annual events: Holiday Handicraft Fair, Santa’s Brunch, Festival of Lights, and the garage sale with all of the proceeds benefiting the scholarship funds.
