Lisa Aronson New City Commissioner

May 07, 2008

Lisa Aronson, District E, was elected as Coconut Creek’s new city commissioner on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. She will hit the ground running with her first commission meeting taking place on May 8, 2008. Aronson will serve the last 10 months of a departed commissioner's term and will be up for re-election in March 2009. Aronson is the recent former chair of the city’s Planning and Zoning Board.

“I congratulate Lisa and look forward to working with her. I welcome her to the team,” stated Mayor Becky Tooley.

Although Aronson was elected as the District E commissioner, she, as all Coconut Creek city commissioners, represent the entire City. District E encompasses areas north of the Sawgrass Expressway with the exception of a small portion of the City east of Lyons Road.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to be elected to the City Commission and look forward to serving the residents of Coconut Creek in an expanded new way," said Aronson.

Aronson has served as Director of Government Relations for Keiser University, Executive Director of the Broward County Charter Review Commission, and Executive Director of the Broward County Management and Efficiency Study Committee. Other positions have included Special Projects Coordinator for the Port Everglades Authority, District Manager to former U.S. Congressman Larry Smith, and Administrative Assistant to the Broward County Legislative Delegation. Additionally, Lisa has taught State and Local Government at Broward Community College, and worked on a consulting basis for the Broward League of Cities.
