Coconut Creek H.S. Jazz Band
 April 28, 2008
The City of Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to welcome the Coconut Creek High School Jazz Band.
The band will perform at the Band Shell at the Community Center on Friday, May 16, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Coconut Creek High School Jazz Band is comprised of 15 students in grades 9 through 11, led by Director of Bands, Dean Calmer. The Art of Jazz has been void from the band program at Creek for many years. Due to Mr. Calmer and his 15 talented students, Jazz is back in swing and echoes the halls of Coconut Creek High School. Although the band has been together for just seven months, they have developed into a polished and accomplished group of musicians. The band continues to improve with each performance. These same students are also active in the marching band, concert band and drum line.
The Coconut Creek High School Jazz Band will be bringing their musical repertoire to the Band Shell, located behind the Coconut Creek Community Center at 1100 Lyons Road, on Friday, May 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for your listening comfort. Then, sit back, relax and enjoy an evening of jazz under the sky.
