Property Tax Exemption Filing Dates Announced For the City of Coconut Creek

(Fort Lauderdale) Broward County Property Appraiser Lori Parrish announced special homeowner sign-up dates for Homestead, Senior and other Property Tax Exemptions at the Coconut Creek City Hall.

2008 Schedule
Deputy Property Appraisers will assist residents at The Coconut Creek City Hall on the following Tuesdays from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM:

• January 22, 2008
• March 25, 2008
• May 27, 2008
• July 22, 2008
• September 23, 2008
• November 25, 2008

Documents required for filing a Homestead Exemption include:

• A current Florida driver's license or Florida I.D. card
• A current voter registration card of declaration of domicile
• Non-US citizens must also provide proof of permanent residency

Qualified residents 65 years of age or older as of January 1, 2008 may also apply for the additional Senior Exemption. Eligible seniors must have a total household income not to exceed $24,916. Documents required to file for the Senior Exemption include a 2007 income tax return or, if one does not file income taxes, a copy of the 2007 Social Security 1099 Form.
