Coconut Creek Little LeagueCreek Little League to begin Anniversary Season

Coconut Creek Set to Begin 10th Season as a Little League Organization.

Coconut Creek Little League’s 2008 season marks its 10th anniversary as a member of the world’s largest youth sports organization: Little League Baseball & Softball. The Coconut Creek Baseball Club founded in 1997 officially became a chartered Member of Little League beginning with its 1999 season. Countless volunteers have worked hard to teach the Little League ideals of courage, character and loyalty to the youth of Coconut Creek and Margate over those years. League President and Founder Randy Johnson attributes the league’s success to community involvement. “For me, the success of the league is the result of all the volunteer effort, we have had many quality people pitching in over the years, and the league is a reflection of their hard work”. Mr. Johnson goes on to state. “I think the league is very important to the community, I have met so many wonderful people through the organization, Baseball Saturdays are great, it seems like everyone is at the parks, and the atmosphere is fantastic”. The League is planning some special events to commemorate the occasion.

Coconut Creek Little League Walk-in registration for the historic 2008 season will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the South Community Center, 1100 Lyons road, Coconut Creek (South east corner of Coconut Creek parkway) between 1:00-4:00 p.m. A second walk-in registration will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the North Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard, Coconut Creek (Lyons Rd. just south of Hillsboro) also between 1:00-4:00 p.m. Registration is also available by mail or online by visiting the league’s web site at www.creekbaseball.com . Online Registration opens November 1st.

League age for girl’s softball is age as of January 1, 2008. Non- Coconut Creek residents must purchase a city sports card. The cost is $60 and covers participation in all city sports for 2008. New applicants should bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate and two proofs of residency. The 2008 spring season will run from late February to early June. Participants will meet two to three times per week. Registration Fee is $95 with a $10 discount for additional siblings.
