2008 Bulk Trash Pick-Up Schedule
 October 02, 2006
Coconut Creek homeowners are invited to participate in the City’s quarterly household trash collectionin 2008.
The schedule for 2008 is as follows:
- January 9
- April 23
- July 23
- October 22
All-Service Refuse, the City's waste hauler, will pick up yard waste, mattresses, furniture, appliances, and other bulky non-hazardous household items placed out for collection before 7:00 a.m. The collection does not apply to commercial properties.
Single-family homeowners must place their trash within five feet of their curb away from utility poles, fire hydrants and mailboxes. Multi-family homeowners are to place their trash at a location designated by their property manager.
Loose material, such as leaves, must be contained in plastic bags or garbage cans. Do not place trash in cardboard boxes or paper bags as these containers tend to break open when wet. Tree trimmings, branches, lumber, carpet and metal poles must be cut into sections not to exceed four feet in length and tied into bundles. Bundles, bags and garbage cans cannot exceed fifty pounds in weight. Large limbs and sections of tree trunk can be placed out for collection provided each piece is less than fifty pounds and can be safely handled by the collection crew. Rugs, carpet, padding, wire fencing and materials of this nature must be rolled and securely tied.
Lawn equipment drained of oil and gasoline will be accepted. Always consider child safety when leaving items out for collection.
Propane tanks, fire extinguishers, motor oil, nickel-cadmium or lead-acid batteries, gasoline, solvents, tires, paint, insecticides, pesticides and other chemicals will not be collected. Homeowners can dispose of these hazardous materials on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m at Broward County's North Transfer Station located at 2780 N. Powerline Road in Pompano Beach. Call the County's Household Hazardous Waste Hotline for more information: (954) 765-4999.
