Bulk Pick-up Schedule

March 26, 2006

Coconut Creek homeowners are invited to participate in the City’s quarterly household trash collection on Wednesday, April 19th, 2006.

All-Service Refuse, the City’s waste hauler, will pick up yard waste, mattresses, furniture, appliances, and other bulky non-hazardous household items placed out for collection before 7:00 a.m. All-Service Refuse will remove the bulky trash items by Saturday, April 22nd. The collection does not apply to commercial properties.

Single-family homeowners are to place their trash within five feet of their curb away from utility poles, fire hydrants and mailboxes. Multi-family homeowners should place their trash at a location specified by their property manager.
Loose material, like leaves, must be contained in plastic bags or garbage cans. Do not place trash in cardboard boxes or paper bags as these containers tend to break open when wet. Small branches, carpet, lumber and metal poles must be tied in bundles less than four feet in length.

Bundles, bags and garbage cans cannot exceed fifty pounds in weight. Large limbs and sections of tree trunk can be placed out for collection provided each piece is less than fifty pounds and can be safely handled by the collection crew. Lawn equipment drained of oil and gasoline will also be accepted. Consider child safety when leaving items out for collection.

Propane tanks, fire extinguishers, motor oil, nickel-cadmium or lead-acid batteries, gasoline, solvents, tires, paint, insecticides, pesticides and other chemicals will not be collected. Homeowners can dispose of these hazardous materials on Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at Broward County’s North Transfer Station located at 2780 N. Powerline Road in Pompano Beach. Call the County’s Household Hazardous Waste Hotline for more information: (954) 765-4999.

If you need more information about Coconut Creek’s quarterly household trash collection, contact All-Service Refuse at (954) 583-1830 or the City’s Public Services Department at (954) 973-6780.
