All Four Amendments to City Charter are Approved
Following are the results of the referendum of amendments to the City Charter that took place on March 14, 2006.

  • Question 1: Shall City residents who are qualified voters and have resided for a minimum of twelve months in any land area annexed into the City qualify as a candidate for the City Commission?
    • Yes 751 (86.5%)
    • No 117 (13.5%)
  • Question 2: Shall the terms of office of City Commissioners be extended from three years to four years and shall the terms of the City Commissioners elected March 8, 2005, be extended to a four-year term?
    • Yes 638 (73.3%)
    • No 232 (26.7%)
  • Question 3: Shall the time period to hold a special election following a vacancy on the City Commission be extended from 120 days to 180 days.
    • Yes 635 (72.7%)
    • No 238 (27.3%)
  • Question 4: Shall the minimum time period for the required appointment of a Re-Districting Board be extended from three years to five years?
    • Yes 573 (66.1%)
    • No 294 (33.9%)
