  • Broward County has declared a State of Emergency in response to Tropical Storm Rita
  • Evacuation of all mobile home parks is recommended
  • Mobile home residents are encouraged to first seek shelter with friends and relatives if possible, and use the Red Cross Shelter as a last resort
  • Monarch High School, 5050 Wiles Road, will open as a Red Cross Shelter at 7:00 PM (Monday, 9/19)
  • Mobile home residents who need transportation should contact their park managers who can arrange for bulk pick up of persons by Mass Transit
  • All Broward County Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, Sept. 20th
  • All-Service will perform regularly scheduled trash pick-up today, Sept. 20th
  • A pet-friendly shelter will be opened for citizens who have pre-registered with the Humane Society: 954.989.3977
  • A special needs shelter will be open for those residents who are pre-registered: 954.537.2888
  • Coconut Creek Government Center is open today, Tuesday, September 20th
