The Hobbit Visits Township

July 19, 2005

On August 18th, 7:00 PM, thirty children from the Coconut Creek Children's Theater will perform the classic, The Hobbit, at the Township Center for the Performing Arts.

The Hobbit is about a homebody demi-human in Middle Earth who gets talked into joining a quest with a group of dwarves to recover their treasure from a dragon.

For this presentation, there will be two acts, four scenes in each act.

The Coconut Creek Children's Theater, comprised of multi-cultural kids ages 6-12, have been rehearsing for this debut since April 21st, meeting three times per week for two hours and three hours on Saturdays.

Josh Salter, Recreation Programmer for the Coconut Creek Recreation Center serves as the director, stage manager and costume designer. He has worked with a few local volunteers on this project.

Tickets must be obtained at the Recreation Center (beginning August 1st): 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. For more info., call 954.956.1580.
