Parking Regulations

The parking of vehicles in residential districts is permitted only in the following areas:
- On paved driveways
- Within a carport or a garage
- In a screened side yard
- Within the grass portion of the swale area, so that there is no damage to the swale area and the grass is kept in a safe and suitable condition
- No vehicle is to park across a sidewalk. No vehicle may park on the grass in a front or side yard

Recreational vehicles (travel trailers and campers, boats/trailers, motorcoaches, utility trailers, and offroad vehicles) and commercial vehicles must be parked as follows:- Within a garage or carport
- In a side yard, but must be opaquely screened and within established side and front yard setbacks
- Within a driveway with an approved vehicle cover designed for such use. License plate must be visible from roadways. (Commercial vehicles only)
- Recreational vehicles are permitted to be temporarily parked in the front of a home for up to 4 hours prior to and after use by the resident

- Generally, large commercial vehicles with any equipment attached, temporarily or permanently, may not be parked or stored in a residentially zoned district. Call 973-6752 for specific information
- All vehicles must be currently registered, licensed, and in operable condition
- Major repair of vehicles (such as removal of motor drive train, brake drums, or axles) can only occur in a carport, garage, or a prescribed place of business
